Favorite Authors?!
Do you have any favorite authors?!
Who?! Why?!
Have you read many of their books?! Do they have many books?
What makes you want to read them?!
and anything else you want to share?!

Re: Favorite Authors?!
I could talk on this topic forever....
John Grisham was the first author I got addicted to. I read all of his books. I've always been interested in law/crime so his books are right up my alley.
Patricia Cornwell - don't remember how I got started on her, but I've read them all. I particularly like the Scarpetta Series. Again - crime type books
James Patterson - he is a very diverse author. My favorite of his are the crime novels, particular the Alex Cross series and the Women's Murder Club. But I read almost anything he writes.
Nicholas Sparks - Oh my gosh, this guy can write some tear jerkers. LOVE THEM
Emily Griffith - this is a new author who only has 4 books so far, I think (maybe 5 at the most). The first one I read was one of those that I literally could NOT put down. I had to finish it. I think I read it in two days and stayed up WAY too late finishing it.
Dorothea Benton Frank - She's a local author that writes stories based on the coast of South Carolina. But anyone would enjoy them, not just SC natives.
Though I could go on, that's good for now.

It's probably Griffin - I was going off memory. She's the one the wrote Something Borrowed, Something Blue & Baby Proof??? Those are the three I have read so far.
I have not read any Jodi Picoult - might need to try it though.

Re: Favorite Authors?!
Well, if our other likes are any indication, you should totally read Jodi's books (yup we are on a first name basis! ROFL!!!)...
I'd start with maybe My Sisters Keeper or The Pact... those were 2 of my faves...but really I've loved all of them. They are all a little different, but her writing is awesome!!!!!
Yes, loved the Emily Griffin books... Something Borrowed and Something Blue were fab. Read them SOOOOOO fast.
Do you also like Sophie Kinsella? I like her too... quick and easy... totally loved her recent book Remember Me. Great!!! And quick reading agian!

Re: Favorite Authors?!
YES, I love Sophie too! Forgot to mention her. I'm actually reading Shopaholic Ties the Knot right now. The Shopaholic books kind of get on my nerves, but I kind of want to read them all since I've already read the first two (weird, i know). But I have REALLY loved all of her non-shopaholic books. I read Remember Me not too long ago too :-)

Re: Favorite Authors?!
Yeah, the others are better... totally agree...
I liked... Undomestic Goddess... and LOVED Can you Keep a Secret.
Just read a couple of her "Madeleine Wickham" books... and not as thrilled...
Cocktails for three was just okay...
and Gate Crasher was alright.
I'm sure I'll read Sleeping Arrangements... but... hmm...

Re: Favorite Authors?!
I like those two as well - but have never read her books under the other name.
